Ainex Showcases Endoscopy AI at VIGES 2026 in Vietnam, Shares Clinical Data on ENAD Applications

Sep.23.2026

Joint booth with local partner HAT-MED features demonstration of real-time lesion detection and diagnostic support during upper and lower GI endoscopy

Clinicians from Asan Medical Center and Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong present research findings… Adenoma detection rate reaches 45.1% in AI-assisted group, compared with 38.8% in conventional colonoscopy group

Ainex Corporation (CEO David Lee; hereinafter “Ainex”), a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) for gastrointestinal endoscopy, announced on September 22 that it showcased ENAD, its AI-powered diagnostic support solution for upper and lower GI endoscopy, at the 2nd National Conference of the Vietnam Society of Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (VIGES 2026), held September 18–19 at GEM Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Under the theme “Standardization, Innovation, and Patient Safety,” VIGES 2026 brought together gastrointestinal endoscopy specialists from Vietnam, South Korea, the United States, Japan, India, and Thailand. The program featured lectures and live demonstrations covering endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), emergency endoscopy, and medical AI.

Ainex operated a joint booth with HAT-MED, its local partner in Vietnam, to introduce ENAD. ENAD is software that detects suspected lesions in real time during upper and lower GI endoscopy and provides diagnostic information by lesion type. At the event, Ainex demonstrated its diagnostic support capabilities and potential applications in a simulated clinical workflow.

The scientific program featured presentations by Korean clinicians on the role of AI in gastrointestinal endoscopy, along with research findings and implementation examples involving ENAD. Professor Jeong-sik Byeon of the Department of Gastroenterology at Asan Medical Center delivered a presentation titled “The Role of AI and Robotics in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.” He explained that computer-aided detection (CADe) can help improve the adenoma detection rate and reduce missed lesions.

Professor Byeon also highlighted AI’s potential to support examination quality, particularly among less-experienced endoscopists, and presented examples of ENAD’s diagnostic support for upper and lower gastrointestinal lesions and procedure-time monitoring.

Professor Jae Myung Cha of the Department of Gastroenterology at Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong delivered a presentation titled “Navigating the Role of Colonoscopy and AI in CRC Screening.” He discussed missed lesions and variability in colonoscopy quality and explained that AI can support lesion detection (CADe), real-time optical diagnosis (CADx), and procedure quality control (CAQ).

Professor Cha also presented findings from a study of ENAD, in which the adenoma detection rate was 45.1% in the AI-assisted group, compared with 38.8% in the conventional colonoscopy group. He emphasized, however, that clinician experience and real-world practice settings should also be considered when evaluating clinical effectiveness.

The event drew attention not only for showcasing ENAD’s capabilities but also for sharing research findings and perspectives on the clinical role of AI-assisted diagnosis in gastrointestinal endoscopy. Building on its partnership with HAT-MED, Ainex plans to expand engagement with healthcare institutions in Vietnam and strengthen a collaborative framework encompassing product supply, training, and technical support.

“VIGES 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to demonstrate ENAD alongside our local partner and share the clinical value of AI-assisted endoscopy,” said David Lee, CEO of Ainex. “We will continue to work closely with HAT-MED to strengthen local training and technical support, enabling healthcare institutions in Vietnam to adopt and use ENAD reliably.”

Since signing its first ENAD deployment agreement with healthcare institutions in Vietnam in May 2024, Ainex has continued to expand the solution’s local availability. According to the company, ENAD is currently used in endoscopic examinations at healthcare institutions across Vietnam, including 91 Clinic, Hong Hung General Hospital, FV Hospital, Phuong Chau Sa Dec Hospital, and Vinmec Times City International Hospital.
