AI diagnostic support software ENAD expands into public healthcare

Ainex Corporation announced on the 3rd that its AI-powered diagnostic support software for gastrointestinal endoscopy, ENAD, has been introduced in four public hospitals in Korea.

This deployment was carried out through the Public Procurement Service’s Innovative Product Pilot Program, which aims to promote data accumulation and performance improvement by applying technologically advanced SME products in public institutions.

ENAD, which was designated as an innovative product in July 2024 for its technological excellence in the field of endoscopy AI, has been implemented in four public hospitals: Incheon Veterans Hospital under the Korea Veterans Health Service, Seoul Metropolitan Seonam Hospital, Armed Forces Capital Hospital, and Armed Forces Seoul District Hospital.

The solution is a software as a medical device (SaMD) that detects and analyzes lesions in real time during endoscopic procedures, supporting clinicians’ diagnosis by integrating with existing endoscopy systems.

By leveraging accumulated lesion data, ENAD is designed to detect subtle changes and patterns, thereby improving diagnostic accuracy.

The product has obtained regulatory approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) covering the full spectrum of both upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. In addition, ENAD CADx, an AI solution for colonoscopy diagnosis, has passed the integrated review for innovative medical devices and is currently undergoing the reimbursement process.

Ainex is also expanding its global presence, particularly across Asia, while preparing for entry into the European market. Through its collaboration with Olympus Korea, the company continues to broaden the application of endoscopy AI technology.
